SPS automotive performance aims for a successful season finish

At the upcoming season finale of the International GT Open at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, SPS automotive performance has set itself the goal of concluding the eventful season with good results. After their race win in Monza, Reece Barr (IRL) and Mikaeel Pitamber (RSA) will travel to Spain highly motivated. Dexter Müller and Yannick Mettler also intend to end the year with another good result in the PROAM class.

The Grand Prix circuit near the Catalan metropolis has been the venue for the season final of the International GT Open for several years now. The Willsbach-based team travels to Spain with a tailwind after winning the second race at the last event in Monza. Reece Barr and Mikaeel Pitamber in the #20 Mercedes-AMG GT3 delivered a strong performance to claim their debut victory at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, making them the youngest winning driver duo in the International GT Open history books. Barr and Pitamber will be looking to build on this momentum at the season final to finish their first season together with the best possible result.

Their teammates Dexter Müller and Yannick Mettler, who are competing this year with the number 54 car under the name CBRX by SPS, also want to end the year with a good finish. With one class win and two other podium finishes so far, the Swiss team enters the season final with optimism. Last season, the duo secured the third championship place in their category with a fourth place in the PROAM class in Barcelona. At the end of an eventful season, Müller and Mettler are again aiming for a podium finish in the PROAM in order to position themselves as well as possible in the overall standings.

The first race of the season final over 70 minutes will start on Saturday, 21 October at 15:05 CEST. On the following Sunday at 13:30 CEST, the International GT Open will enter its final race of 2023, which is scheduled to last one hour.

Stephan Sohn, team principal SPS automotive performance: "After the victory in Monza, we are of course highly motivated heading to Barcelona. We expect a full grid, so the competition will be very strong again. But we are well prepared and intend to set an exclamation mark once again at the end of the season."
